At its heart is a specially crafted centerpiece encasing a cloth relic — fabric touched to the miraculous image of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Syracuse, Italy. On August 29, 1953, that image was witnessed weeping real tears at 3:00 a.m., bringing miraculous healing to its owner. This extraordinary event was later recognized and approved by the Church.
